    Tony third scratch build

Cut a body out awhile ago( a few) and did some initial routing so finally with a bit of time will progress build.
FR style body in Camphor with mahogany neck and either Maccassar Ebony or png ebony. Will be fitted with Floyd rose and a bit daunted to route that.
Struggling with headstock shape. Wanted it to be a bit different from itís in by origins so did a musician style headstock but not sure it fits with shape.

Lots of potential there. Headstocks are hard and a lot of it is personal taste. What about doing a 3+3 style with a rounded point like a flying V?

Yeah I think the prs/ schecter style 3x3 may be the go. The mm headstock just looks out of place

Routed Truss rod slot and chiselled out the section for the truss adjusting wheel.
Think the prs style head (or variation of) is the go instead of the mm

    One man's meat...

PRS doesn't look right to me with that body style.

I much prefer the Musicman style, or a variation on it (though it makes getting a 4+2 tuner set expensive).

Yeah, I prefer the MM style but the tuner cost could easily shift me back to a 3+3. But given the curves of the body I think I'd go with a less pointy headstock, something like my line6 variax acoustic

Little more progress today roughed out the neck and did most of the shape of PRS but going to play around with final shape to see what will look better. Somehow the templates has slid a little to one side so now truss rod is not dead centre. Not a massive issue but annoying. Next guitar will have a crack at tilt back neck.
Marked up for the Floyd and routed out. First one Iíve done so a lot of measure four hundred times before taking the plunge.

Isn't it amazing how such a small part of the guitar can have such an impact on the way it looks? For what it's worth I like it with both headstocks, but I really like what you've done with it so far
