Some familiar, and a new username coming along for the ride. Welcome and thanks. Add ‘incompetence’ to McCreed’s quote and I could probably claim it as my own.
My Grandfather died a couple of decades ago Christmas Eve/Christmas day when I was an ungrateful teenager. He had a Triton workbench and various tools including a router, sanding disks, etc, which sat in an Uncle’s garage until word went out, “…would anyone like them?”. Naturally I collected them. Funny, I don’t remember my Grandfather building anything, but seemed to have three of everything. My Nanna, and wife of said Grandfather, died earlier this year. So in a way this is reminding me of them although that wasn’t a consideration when I began.
Anyhow, took my router and bits to Timbercon today while I’m on holiday and got a 3/4” dove tail bit and a bit to cut a rabbet for the neck join(about $30 each), 946mL Titebond ($20) and assorted scrapers ($33). Looks like fret saws cost about $50 and chisels will be another major expense. Also got two 1200x596x18mm plywood sheets to make my body mould ($90…ouch!)

    Consumables (running tally).
    $26

    Tools and moulds.
    $180
