No, but I've had fever dreams about using them on a superstrat build.

It’s nice, but I had this one more in mind

One more worry checked off the list. It's not "perfect" perfect, but it's definitely good enough. Might even be able to make it more perfecterer if I need to open up the back holes a bit more for the ferrules with a 7mm bit (which I don't own, yet).

This tool was pretty useful. I practised on a bit of doggie door offcut first.

That looks good Dozy. You'll definitely be able to finess the ferrules into alignment and spacing with what you have there.
    Good work!

    Thanks mate.

And now the bit I'm most worried about commences.

Putting down a black base, which I'll sand back carefully, and will likely put a blue on top, maybe with a hint of purple. Maybe.

The first pass has of course revealed some glue imperfections that the initial acetone attention didn't correct. So I'll be attacking that with some goo remover.

I can confidently say that that's not what I was expecting to happen when I applied a blue stain...

Again, a project takes me where it wants to go.

This was after sanding back the black stain.

That blue effect is something else, awesome look, the grain pattern is beautiful, highlighting it with the black base was meant to happen. Great work.

So, is this a happy accident, or not so?

The quilting is amazing regardless of the colour though!
