    Old member returning.

Hi folks, I’ve been away for a while but I’m back to put together a retirement gift for a colleague. I’m having trouble navigating the site to find an email/telephone contact for the new owner. Can someone help me out?

DarkMark! Nice to see you back ;-)

This is what he has on the website:

    service@pitbullguitars.com

    Pit Bull Guitars
    Unit 4
    213-215 Collier Road
    BAYSWATER WA 6053
    AUSTRALIA

I have also reached Tim at:

    tbo@pitbullguitars.com

I don't have a phone number, but since I am literally on the other side of the Earth from Perth I'd have a hard time calling during biz hours ;-)

Thanks all, yes I’m afraid I’m not really a telephone business.. with all the social pages, messenger, forum etc. I must admit I do get behind in my comms more than I’d like! But good old email is always the best way to contact me.
As said above, service@pitbullguitars.com is the way to go.
    Cheers all, happy building!

Is this going to be another hollow or semi-hollow with your signature slotted headstock? Curious whether this will be in the Charlie Christian vein or a departure ;-)

The plan is to put together a Strat stained with a dye we use at work called, “Haematoxylin”. Using the dye is integral to this build as it will be a retirement present for someone who has relied on this dye all of their career. This will be my first solid body build. I’ve given the dye a little test on some pine and it is close to mahogany, but not quite the same. As staining is a must for this project I was hoping to receive a kit that will take kindly to staining, as opposed to something that would be better off painting. Maybe I just have to order and hope for the best.

Update: I thought the Ash body was the only option, didn’t see the basswood. ST-1 ordered. Payment was a bit glitching…payment has left the bank but items are still in the cart.

Never used that stain on wood, but given it's primary use it should be stable! Basswood is a good choice IMHO. The grain can be great in ash, but the pore filling and weight are a pain. I suspect that basswood will also take the stain more evenly since it is a much tighter grained wood.

Pine is pretty open grained...if you have some scrap around of maple to experiment with that might be closer to what the basswood will look like.

Looking forward to seeing the build!

With regard to the payment, Hope you'll alert Tim. Did you get you get an order confirmation email?

My mistake. PayPal CCard was out of date. Sorted. I obviously don't do enough on line shopping.
