Thread: JZ-6 Bass VI apartment build

  1. #21
I am taking a moment to decide if I just want to leave it white (it looks pretty darn good), or add the pale blue (and maybe even pale pink) as I originally planned.

I also have to find somewhere to spray the neck. Clear is a lot less obviously messy than spray paint, so it should be fine as long as it’s not IN the apartment… but I am thinking the car park is the answer. The problem is where do I hang it to dry/cure?

The balcony should work, but do I spray it in the car park then bring it up to the balcony, or find a way to spray it on the balcony itself? Dilemma.

Get yourself something like this, and do it on the balcony: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/vuku-wa...hite-10339331/

I thought you were kidding, but this would actually work…. I could even potentially spray colour in this…

Yep, I recently got one, and sprayed a headstock in it. Worked a treat.

If it’s likely to get wet and needs to be properly waterproof, then use a pop-up toilet tent. All depends on how much shelter your balcony provides and how long you want to leave the neck hanging before bringing it indoors.

I got one of these. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/31343217...r=612290935732. Does the job nicely.

I think I’m going to get the IKEA one, I don’t need it to be waterproof, and the hanger rod will be handy.

There are ties at the back of the roof that may be useful for anchoring, if you have anything to anchor it to.

Didn't wanna waste a warmish Melbourne day, so doing the neck today in the lid of the kit's box... but I'll use the IKEA wardrobe thingo to clear coat the body when I finish the colours (if I do them and don't just leave it white).
