Ok, I just measured the sides and there is no short side. I assumed the cut away added extra length to the side. That’s pretty funny.

I’d have thought it would have as well, though if the upper side piece runs around past the neck pocket to the start of the cutaway, then that would roughly make up for the extra length in the cutaway. If the sides met right on the centreline at each end, then the bottom would definitely be longer than the top.

So, what have I been up to? Not building guitars.
Long service leave was over before I knew it. I’d been studying part time and needed leave to finish the certificate. Now that’s out of the way I can move ahead with this.
What have I done this week? Built a shooting board and learnt to sharpen and set up my late grandfather’s planes.
…and it’s good to be back in the game.

Hi Trevor. Plane is my new favourite tool. Note the poor man’s Moxon vice.

If it works, why not! I do not have a work area big enough to have all the bit and pieces I really want, so have to make do quite a lot!
