What is the deal with the slide? Am I missing something?

It looks as though the neck pocket is cut right through the body which would suggest a folder, if the strings were anchored on the back?! Then the slide would present a good shallow curve to run the strings around so not stressing them going from folded to locked. The locking of the neck in that instance will be very interesting. Or maybe not, can’t wait for developments 🤨
