After much thought, I opted to go with brushed nickel on this guitar. Had it made to order from diamond cut graphics on eBay. Jeff was most helpful. Albeit pricey than most, I’m happy with the end product.

Thank you Wazkelly. That’s the kind simple I need. I’ll be filling that one away in my memory bank.

What I would like next is a technique to remove the film and just leave the toner to lacquer over...
Build #1, failed solid body 6 string using neck from a scrapped acoustic (45+ odd years ago as a teenager!)
Build #2, ugly parlour semi with scratch built body and ex Peavey neck
Build #3, Appalachian Dulcimer from EMS kit
Build #4, pre-owned PB ESB-4
Build #5, Lockdown Mandolin
Build #6, Sixty six body for Squier
Build #7, Mini Midi Bass
Some techniques you may or may not already of seen. The acetone method looks simple.

Acetone will react with quite a lot of finishes (definitely nitro), so I'd suggest only using it directly on wood. Or at least first use a test piece of wood that you've treated with the same finish.
