Wow! That clear really brings everything out nicely.
Are you using rattle cans or gun?
Also, I'm not quite getting the "textured" thing on the neck. Please explain...

SCA rattle can clear.
I probly didn't explain the textured thing very well sorry. Here's a few shots of my Gibson's with the textured back going on. Just not grain filled with satin finish and you can see the grain rather than being totally smooth and glossy.
You might have to zoom in a little, it's hard to capture in photo.
Does that kind of explain it better?![]()

Looking great! That SCA must be quick to apply and a lot faster than what I’ve been up to. I might research this method.

I did the 15 coats over 2 hours and this morning it's dry. I'm still going to let it sit for a week before blocking back though. Wiped with naptha (lighter fluid) then a tack cloth prior to first application. Then just waited the 20 mins between each block of 3 coats. Worked a treat.

We should sticky this post - it's golden advice.
Ahhhhh, now I get it!
I thought maybe you were going for a bagged render kind of thing!!!
(great for brickwork, not so much guitars)

Still gassing off so hard to get a good photo, but I'm calling this decal well and truly buried.
I think I managed to get even less orange peel on this application than the body. The body only has a very fine orange peel, so shouldn't be a big job wet sanding up to mirror finish *fingers crossed.

Just try and keep the headstock (and body) off the cardboard as you'll get lumpy bits where the bottom of the headstock is sitting in the pool of clear.
