    Actually... the one LAST thing I am tempted to try...

    I have a pair of pickups from a Japanese Fender Jaguar... since they also mount to the body like the P-90's, they should be a direct drop in (they also fit in the same hole as the P-90s, just no as wide obviously).

    I would need something to cover the excess space in the pickguard routes (till I could get a custom one made), but that should be pretty easy. I have also considered some craziness like angling one or both pickups. Might be a fun experiment!

    I put some white contact on the pick guard as a test and loved it, so back to the shed to paint the pick guard I go, lol.

    Update: have a new maple neck and tone rider p-90s on the way. Really loving this guitar. It has proven to me that my real dream guitar is possible (keep your eyes open for that thread in the non-PGB section, hah).

    Trying to decide if I like the new neck better or not. I think I actually got the old one straight, so not sure it’s needed... so only doing it if it’s prettier
