@nick was my first thought aswell, can't wait for summer, watermelon season will be great :P

@Woks thanks man! And hell yeah green is the way to go. If you couldnt decide ultimately on a colour scheme, have a look at the Gibson custom model green widow. That's kind of what I'm trying to replicate. They do it in multiple and extremely beautiful colours! Will defiantly win you over

@brodie thanks man! Should pop very nicely with clears, sadly were a while away from that yet 😔 have to do some priming and get the solid colour on the back and sides 😊

haha I know Pest we talk big units (yotta = 10exp24, hella = 10exp27) but I used a unit 'mega' (10exp6) that most readers would understand.

What ever you 2 could be talking about, I have no idea. But we have an update. All been taped up and primer'd on the back and sides ready for the black. We've all seen what primer looks like, nothing exciting so I won't post pictures. Long boarded it back with 120 to reveal any low spots and surprisingly this one had very few. so I primed her again, and now im just waiting for her to dry before I can sand it back with something a lot higher, possibly somewhere between 400-600.

sounds good Kurt, was wondering how progress was going on the late birthday present.
Don't worry about mine and Pest's ramblings, basically Pest caught me out using too smaller scientific unit (mega = 1,000,000) he wanted a unit with 21 more zeros hahaha

Okay some we have bit of an adventure with this build in the last 24 hours. Went and visited Pabs last night and we did some fret levelling and put some that fretboard conditioner stuff on it, looks amazing! Thanks Pabs!!

This morning, I taped up the neck, and sprayed it black, nothing fancy happening just yet so I won't bother posting photos of that until it's finished.

I also did the burst on the front of the guitar this morning. Now I originally had an airbrush to do it with, more control and stability while painting etc. plus I already knew how to use an airbrush to paint, but unfortunately I broke it haha. So I did it with a spray can.. And boy was I scared. But it turned out pretty decent considering I had never done this before with a spray can. my phone is not currently allowing me to post pictures but I'll do it on the computer later this arvo

now ive been thinking about the wiring for this beast of a guitar, i dont want to get too crazy with it because this is going to a newbie guitar player, so i was thinking of just throwing in a killswitch, simple yet elegant, because i really hate the 2 volume thing, not to mention it would just confuse the missus. I hope wierdy gets a look at this and can help me

secondly, i want to put a waterslip decal on it, simple design. Itll say 'Princess' in the Gibson styled writing. is aanyone able to do this for me pleeeaseee, dont mind paying for it, just think it would be cool and thoughtful!

    Cheers,
    Kurt

Hey Kurt, thats the cleanest 'messy' shed I've seen. Great work on the burst, hard to be concise with a spray can.
If you have access to an inkjet printer I buy the blank waterslide paper off ebay, make up your logo in Word or some other program, print it and shoot a clear coat over it, trim the logo as close to the edge, put it in water and slide it off onto the headstock. Takes a bit of practice.
Otherwise shoot an email to Andyport can do you a cool logo email is citysigns at internode.on.net
