My vote would be for the stain. Firstly you get to see some grain and secondly, it's got a lot more of a contemporary look and feel about, it's understated, but still mean. You paint one of these black with the white pickguard and instantly you've turned it into a metal guitar...used by "that guitarist" in "that band" yaaaawn.Two possibilities.
