The black plastic dots do have more contrast on a maple board, but once I got used to the Abalone I kinda like them now. Easy to do, cheap and doesn't take long.
The only ferrule blocks I've seen are crazy expensive so I will have to see how #10 turns out before I spend that much on pure cosmetics. Guitars are meant to be played not looked at Lol.

The Westie needs a fair bit of money spent on her before I dare face the Red Mist on the track. Lots of "bitter sweet" memories of all the great trips my beloved wife and I had in her. Still trying to decide what to do. Too painful to sell, too painful to keep. Such is life.
