Yep, CTS are always good. It just got me wondering about what the factory supplies with the kits as it could mean having to swap some wiring connections for newbie lefty builders trying to use righty diagrams.

The black plastic dots do have more contrast on a maple board, but once I got used to the Abalone I kinda like them now. Easy to do, cheap and doesn't take long.
The only ferrule blocks I've seen are crazy expensive so I will have to see how #10 turns out before I spend that much on pure cosmetics. Guitars are meant to be played not looked at Lol.
@ Nick
Thanks mate, hard to go wrong with Naughty Oil. I'm living proof of that
@ Dave
Have fun at the Nationals mate. Fly the PB guitars flag at the Jam Session.
The Westie needs a fair bit of money spent on her before I dare face the Red Mist on the track. Lots of "bitter sweet" memories of all the great trips my beloved wife and I had in her. Still trying to decide what to do. Too painful to sell, too painful to keep. Such is life.
Cheers guys

You could always make a one-piece string retainer block from a piece of brass stock and do without individual ferrules.
Scott.
Scott, I kept the standard pots in the lefty ST that I made for my brother, and you know it never occurred to me that lefties required different pots. It wasn't until my mate asked for better pots in this build that I noticed that they come in left and right handed flavours.
Oh the bliss of right-handed ignorance.

Hey Guys, Lyn #11 is finally finished.
I wish I could tell you that it plays and sounds as sweet as, but there is definitely something strange about a “lefty”. It looks wrong (especially with a reverse headstock), feels wrong and I have no idea how it sounds because banging out an EMin7add11 chord on either a lefty or a righty just sounds bad. lol.

Usually people say “the photos don’t do it justice” but in this case they are extremely flattering. I don’t know if that’s because I am a good photographer or it’s a rubbish phone camera. Probably the latter.
cheers guys
