Thanks BD, I needed another project as I’ve only got three almost finished and had only started 1! It was a close run thing! 😳🤣😜

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

It will get its own diary after the Cursed Black LP is finished (or burned, it’s 50/50 atm tbh)

    Totally reasonable.

What timber are you using there, Frankie?

The body is plantation mahogany, it’s nice and light and works very easily. Neck is a PBG 27” Baritone that I picked up a while back.

Had a routing incident a couple weeks back with a loose bearing collar while doing the neck pocket. I think I've saved it, but I won't show close up pics just yet.

I also had an incident on one of my other scratch projects with my stewmac humbucker template. The template is now effectively trash/reference, but the other project is salvageable with mounting rings.

Lesson learnt: I'm never buying an acrylic template again. Too hard to repair the "love bites".

However, this led me to take a leaf out of Trevor's book, and create my own "tight" template. Took a while this afternoon to create the template and apply it, but very happy with the result of today's cavity exploration.

Ah me, yes. Routers handy to have, terrifying when it all goes south.
I’ve the same StewMac template, but I’ve used it as a master to create MDF sacrificial templates and preserve the acrylic one. Thankfully it was the MDF that got screwed up when I had a similar incident with a Vee dual humbucker rout.

Igor and I have to have a chat about lab tidying, the bodies are stacking up….

That’s what we’re here for! Once in a while we actually finish a guitar. True Story.
