    That's great progress.

How do you make your router templates, they look very professional?

Thanks Simon. I traced the pup onto the MDF, drilled out all the rounded parts using forstner drill bits, cut the main pattern with a jigsaw, and then filed them to the final shape. There was quite a bit of filing needed in the corners of the PB pup. I may need to get a smaller diameter router bit as mine was 1 cm!

Just been looking at pics of the real bass and noticed that whilst the Cort version has the two blade notches painted on, on the real bass, they are actual cut-outs. Are you going to add them or keep it pristine?

My smallest router bit with the roller on the top is 1/4". I've got a 1/8" bottom roller router bit, but that's no use for pickup cavities and the like.

Router bits in the UK still seem to be sold in Imperial sizes, so that's approx 6.4mm and 3.2mm respectively.

I have based it on the Cort so far - so will probably paint it on.
My router bit is 12.7 mm!

That would depend on which axe bass you mean...he's had quite a few! Not all have chips and nicks in the blade and body. There is a bigger difference between the Kramer signature bass and the many iterations (and pick up configurations) they made for him.

Had my first go at spray painting today. Set up a small tent as a spray booth with a "lazy Susan" style support. Finished 4 coats of satin black with a 400g rub down between coats on the body and neck.

I'm not sure if I like spray painting. Very smelly even with a mask.
I think it all went OK though.
