Yes, I've experienced the "I'll just do one more coat..." tragedy before.

To avoid spitting or clumping, I always blow out and wipe the nozzle with solvent whilst waiting for the last coat to tack.

I couldn't find the S-106T 08G listed at Wholesale Paints, but saw it elsewhere. Apart from the green air cap, it physically appears to be the same as my S-106TG-2, but there are minor differences in the specs listed for each.

I think they must be the same gun. I followed your link earlier in this thread to buy the same gun from Wholesale Paint. I've been invoiced for an S-106TG-2, but what I've received is an S-106T 08G.

This is probably slightly off topic, but our local Aldi had a compressor and spray guns in their special buys today.

As we are packing to move interstate I didn't even look at the prices (life would not be worth living if I came home with more workshop kit at this point in time )

Yeah, probably the same gun, but may be worth inquiring with WSP just to confirm. As I mentioned before, the specs I saw were only minorly different, but different just the same. (if that makes sense )

Once you've got a compressor, a spray gun isn't the only thing you can use it for.

You should definitely get a blow gun. Very cheap and very useful. Nothing quite like it for blowing dust and sawdust off a sanded body. A vacuum cleaner will suck at less than one negative atmosphere, but a blower will blow air out at several atmospheres pressure (whatever you've got your regulator set to), so there's a lot more power behind it. Very good for clearing out pickup routs and post holes.



Don't forget that most tools and sprayguns don't come with connection adapters (probably due to there being at least three common types that I know of), so it's worth getting some spares of those whilst you're ordering.

All the extra bits and bobs like fittings can be got from the big green shed or Super Cheap.

I don't know what it is, but as soon as I start using the blow gun she comes flying out of the house to the shed and wants to bite it!
