I couldnt go past it, didnt even get to the black, i had to try the mahogany.
4 coats of stain later, not just on the fretboard but all the neck i had fallen in love. BLACK AND RED, the perfect marriage, at least in my opinion. And it was a dark shade not a cherry red, will match with my theme, dark, mean and classy. At least i hope so....
Then i had to put on 1 coat of poly just to check the depth of the stain....yumm. Perfeck!
Should look great after 20 coats or so.
