Plus once you get above two people, you always need at least the same number of alligators as the number of people present. If it's a relatively crowded public area, you'll quickly run out of alligators. Though the number of people may also decrease quite quickly, alleviating the issue.

You may be right. Florida is the 3rd most populous state for people, but first most populous for alligators. Smart Floridians might be better off measuring things in metric kangaroos, like the rest of the world.
