Thanks its definitely not deliberate, this was my first kit and ive learned a bit more about guitars since it was built thanks to this forum. Its
been over 6 months since this one was finished and the clear coats had never set it was still tacky and soft to the point were hairs from my fore arm where sticking to the guitar. So while i was finishing the grs i decided to sand it back and re clear coat, it diddent really sand of but rubbed of in little balls

Wow sounds like a fault with the clear. Ive had that happen with a faulty batch. Was doing a tabletop that didnt dry hard. Had to scrape it all back to bare. Chemical driers are added into the paint at the factory, if they are faulty then they dont react with the clear and never cure properly. This can also happen if it reacts with undercoats or basecoats. Bummer mate. Better to start again sadly.

Had a pair of these roller bridges turned up today from musiclily of eBay one for this guitar and the other for the grs. Feels really heavy compared to the kit bridge and the pegs slide into the other ones like a glove. Thanks to wazkelly for the YouTube clip for the tipClick image for larger version.

Looking good, Barnsey! Nice and shiny finish FTW!

Makes me think of a Cobra Daytona.

It reminds me of gone in 60 seconds mustang Elenore. I have found the paint scheme for my tl when I buy the kit. Nice effect. I will use Silver and a black stripes. excellent work.

My Les Paul clear is still not rock hard. When it is I am going to sand it back and recoat with baslac. It takes 1 day to set solid. Here's the thing clear in spray cans has a shelf life. It also does not have the hardener added different process as nitro says. I will never use a can again. $300 got me a 5hp compressor 50ltr tank and hvlp gun.
Less over spray and real pro finish.
