Alrighty. New knobs turned up. Plonked them on, slotted the nut because I'm getting sick of waiting for the zero glide I ordered nearly 3 months ago, fret level and a decent set of strings. Finally plays and sounds nice. Might have the action a little low but I'll wait and see how it settles in since I've gone from a set of 9's to 10's. Haven't done the intonation yet but again I'll wait until after the weekend and see if I need any other adjustments. Now I just need to learn to play decent enough to post a video demo. :-D
I think these knobs look way better than the other dodgy things that are now in the bottom of my kitchen tidy.
