Just wait until you try those pads out Wokks, you'll thank me bro, they're freakin' awesome.
I mean the proofs in the pudding as far as nitro goes, it's up to the individual whether or not they want to use it.
Just to reiterate, you DO need to take your time with nitro, otherwise it WILL misbehave. I realize I'm not exactly practicing what I preach but I've used it enough now to know what I can get away with.
Here's a couple more as well as a hardware dry run...
After at least 21 days curing, hit it again...
You may need to wear sunnies because the reflected light from a 40 watt light bulb will burn your eyes out.........
Yeah roger that, by the time I've finished the neck/headstock plus I'm away to NZ for 3 weeks it's going to be close to 2 months sitting anyway, then (like you say) I'll go back and hit it again.
I'm de-fretting the neck so I can get the ebony finished a bit more as well as replacing the dots. A refret, then I want to try my hand at a paua shell inlay on the headstock, which will be a first so as you can see, she's got plenty of time to sit and cure.
Nice!
This what you can expect.
Final polish done with Behlen Deluxing Compound and BAM!
It is well worth investing in the Behlen cutting and Deluxing compounds.
I reckon the tins will last me for the next twenty odd builds.
nice tips there from the DB Nitro all stars !
what's the next banned product you will be giving advice on DB ?
That neck looks insane, is that for the lefty Explorer ?
haha give it time DB, you will come around to naughty oil !
Pigs in hot pink leotards playing iceman axes will fly backwards pooping square rocking horse doo doos before that happens, Woks.
haha DB so you saying about odds of winning lotto ?
Love the description
thats it Pest
@ Ben TJS thread jacking squad is growing very quickly, currently have 5 members - myself, Pest, Barge, Pabs and Andrew O !
ahh man this build is getting me very excited, but those pics are so low res! :(
Yeah I'm hearin' ya man. It's a bit hard with a 97k limit. Here's some straight out the camera and into imgur...

another top class bargy build. nice stuff Nige
Looks awesome Barge! Think I might have to give nitro a go in the future...
Hey Barge, have f*er 'Telenapped' your double cut concept?
http://www.bigmusicshop.com.au/fende...ch-blonde.html
Yeah as Fretty mentioned, the DC Tele is definitely nothing new and certainly not my invention. Having said that (and correct me if I'm wrong) I can't say I've seen any other DC Esquires around with the TOM setup with the angled back cut on body. Probably is something out there but I'm not aware of it.
I saw this carve done the other day and felt compelled to give it a go. I'm just waiting on a black bushing/screw set which should finish the whole neck joint off nicely.
nice touch Barge, so no neck plate hey. The bushings will look choice dawg and less timber covered up. Should also be nicer to play up the high frets
I like bushings better than a neck plate, might think about them for my LP.
So you're saying you don't play past 20th fret much bruh ?
aye I'm probably the same bro.
So you could convert one of those short necks you hang your axe with to a 15 fret axe dawg ?
haha nice one Barge I remember that paintshop and we were a bit worried about how the notes would fret over that huge hole. It's also a pretty wide neck cuz!
Looks like the Barge and Woks show is back ruling the forum dawg
I like the scoop on the back of the heel, it suits the build nicely. I'd double-check the length of the neck screws when they arrive before drilling the ferrule holes, as with the thinned heel and sunken ferrules even the short neck screws can sometimes be borderline too long.
If that happens, out with the hackasaurus and shorten the blighters a tad.
Snap!.........
So you weren't tempted to go all the way.....
