Very cool. I'd definitely be keen to see a build thread for that.

Saw this a while ago. I don't mind the look. I'm not really a Telecaster fan personally (shape wise) but as an acoustic it didn't look too bad.
I wonder how think the wood is. Whether it's thin like an acoustic and hence having a real sound board or thicker like a hollow body electric. Either way I read that the acoustic sound produced was due to a modelling unit / preamp so you can select different acoustic tones to simulate different tone woods on acoustic guitars. Probably quite similar to the Taylor piezo systems.
So if you were to build your own I'm wondering how you'd get a system to give you the different tones. Or what it would sound like without the modelling unit and just a straight piezo plus preamp.

There are some other similar guitars from other companies:

I like the look of the Taylor T5 personally.

    They're both nice looking builds.

After looking at the electronics on the Fender I was wondering if there were after market preamp units with similar functions. And of course there are from Fishman. The Fishman Aura range. Very pricey though. Can get an OEM onboard unit as used by Martin and others ($250 cheapest I found), or the Aura Pro for $800+. There's also pedals which are a fair bit cheaper. I wonder if you could rip the guts out of one of those and mount it......
