    AJ's TL-1A

have started on the TL now, have sanded the body etc etc... and have applied 2 coats after using some Old baltic pine stain to even out the difference in-between the 3 pieces of alder to make the body.
Am not using clear lacquer this time... am experimenting with "naughty oils" ....lol

the first coating was straight T.O. sanded down with green scotch brite the second coating is laced with gold ghost pearl and thinned to 50% as a base for the rest of the coats that will be plain ( straight clear).

Although the pictures don't pick up the shimmer, it does look quite interesting in the flesh.

nice one AJ, looks excellent. FW old baltic one of my favourite colours. The alder kits I've seen always have a lighter/darker piece so wouldn't worry too much.
Should come up a treat with more naughty oil.
We've run out of pizza matey so can you please cook up a couple more ?

think I'm finished doing the body of the TL-1A with true oil now.. Lot of mucking around to use the true oil.. I added gold ghost peal to the second coat, it doesn't show up in the pictures, but it has a nice gold sparkle from different angles in the sun light. Now on to start on the neck, still waiting for the fret board protector and the routing attachment to turn up in the post.. should be here by the 9th I hope. The protector will make fret leveling a lot easier than masking off the fret board when leveling, crowing and polishing the frets.
