I agree, love the colour for that guitar!

Hmm... Having a quick look-n feel before a final polish prior to doing the wiring and neck etc. Body has been clear coated and flattened to 2000 grit. Now needs polish to get a bit of shine and depth back. BUT ... at this stage I am not sure I have not messed up the colour scheme. I am hoping a good polish should darken it up a lot more ..... back / sides of body were much deeper green before I levelled the clear coat 🤢

Yeah, the 2 shades of green are a fair way apart. Top has yellow tones whilst back seems to have more blue tones. Is that how it looks in the flesh as photos sometimes throw up different shades?
Polishing does usually add more depth to everything.
Cheers, Waz

The photo is making the body look a little blue. In reality is it a perfect forrest green. The top does have yellowy hues. It is a head scratcher. I'm thinking it looks off - other folk are telling me it looks great. I'm so far down the road now I am reluctant to go backwards - the top has deepened a bit following polishing, and I also just repaired a patch where I dinged it ! The finish is great - the colours are ... challenging ?

Here are a couple of shots taken in bright sunshine. What you think ?
It looks very different in different light (and because of the flame - hugely different at different angles)
Not entirely sure what to do. I'm flitting between - "its gonna work in a wierd way perhaps even appropriate for this guitar model" and "feck no !"
I will clean up my repair and do a final polish to the body, after which I will decide.
At the moment - I suspect I will persevere with it. It might (might !) just work. I'd hate to lose the flamed top. The only other green paint I have found that might work with the top is lighter - more of a "bile green" .

I like it. The middle shot , where the flame is deepest green, goes well with the darker green of the body (IMO).
I think you should leave it and "own it".

OK - thanks Trevor. That is one vote to keep as is ! The top would have to go completely if I did a new color scheme -and I'd be reluctant to do that (even though it had a minor flaw in one corner anyway). Greens make for a tough combination and it was a very difficult dye to make up.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.
I like it. It has a certain “attitude” that fits the style of the guitar.
