Good Idea regards offcuts , thats the way to go. Dont mind if neck and body different color, Body Bondi Blue, for the body. The neck can go a deeper color, I dont mind how its done on Burst Top Les Pauls, a Gold burst for example then the solid deep red type on the back.
So depending on test stains will be Bondi Blue Front with the deeper color on back and neck.

    Copper Shielding.

I have started to copper shield the Pick Guard laid the first strip on right then realised its a Tele Plate so only sheild the pick up area....The Strat plate needs full shielding...Why sheild, it cuts down on RF interference, Radio Interference. Which can make pickups feedback in wantedly. The control plate route areas all will be shielded. I got the shield vis Dingo....Want a cheap option use superglue and Alluminium foil,,, But for $6 bucks a great investment versus say $3 for Al foil.Click image for larger version.

While waiting for the body to cure, using Dingo Blue, got to work on the neck stain...What stain did I use??
You have ideas before you start then they go out the window, decided on natural looking neck, accoustic stlye, Neck had nice grain and is mahogany was inspired by what Gibson do, plus have seen others use shoe polish , its cheap contains Canaubra Wax and its Different.

It's certainly come up well, did you apply with the shoe brush or by sponging/ragging it on? (not actually trying to be funny, just curious)

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

Like I have said from start, cheap build , also the whole Mohogany neck v Flame body was confusing, bottom line is this is a tone guitar. No arcylic, etc
