Did you have to water down the shoe polish somehow? The neck must smell "interesting" now.

(BTW, I don't think that neck is mahogany, the grain looks like the Chinese maple the rest of the necks are. I could be wrong, but I've never seen mahogany that looks like that.)

Hey Fretty I reckon the neck is mahogany, if you look at the pics posted before look how much darker the headstock is compared to the maple fingerboard. Could be wrong

No just used a cloth similar to any oil, but small amounts, many coats as wokka said if you see earlier pics you get an idea. Neck smells like a Footy boot. Got the idea off another site. The idea is too keep the neck very resonant. But also a way to explore cheap ass options, the idea behind this build is cheap hacks so to speak.

I once was forced to Skoll a complete pint from the 4th Grade premiership trophy we had just won. Pretty sure that hadn't been cleaned since the last time it had been awarded (or possibly the first time it had been awarded). I imagine that would probably be in the same league of grossness.

ahha funny story Franken, you should have at least had the trophy rinsed before the pint was poured. There was probably cobwebs, dust, dead insects in there - ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

Spiders favorite Home, I would throw the boots around as a kid like 5 times to ensure no spiders inside.

Potting Pick ups,ITS WAX!!! not P*ss. All this is $2 shop Tea Light candles melted down in an old jar, placed on a hot sandwich press, or you can use a Electric frypan.WAX IS FLAMMABLE, dont use an OPEN FLAME, Place the pick ups in for 15 minutes or until the bubbles stop coming out of the pick up.. WAX must be BELOW 60 C, ie you can put your finger in it for a few secs.

The REASON.... Potting the pickup forces the AIR out of the pick up and also stabilizes the wires inside the pick which can vibrate and produce En Harmonic feedback, not good Jimi Hendrix Feedback but bad feedback. This is common in Chinese pick ups and will make them sound heaps better.
