Yeah I can't find the first chapter of the video where he explains what he's doing. Basically I used a similar technique and I used 5 colour pots 1.yellow 2. Half yellow mixed with half cherry 3. Cherry 4. Half cherry half black 5. Black.
And then it's a matter of applying layers of full colour and then you apply your mixed colours over the top of where the full colours meet. Not sure if that makes sense but basically the mixed colour blends the two full colours to create the seamless blend. It's definitely a race against the clock to prevent drying too quickly and stuffing up the blend. I'll try and hunt down where old muscles explains the process in his intro.

I'd hate to try a hand rubbed burst on my build first up... I'd have to do a test run on a sheet of ply. Great result Damo!
