Is it much the same as the wires that come with the kits? Just the plastic coated wire?

Yep, they also stock Shielded Audio wire that's fine for use in guitar wiring too.

Yeah my husband got the shielded audio wire but the Nowra store only had the dual wire and the wire snapped easily

Shaz i use 22AWG Gavitt Cloth covered Pre tinned 7 strand push back wire on everything except long runs, for those i use 22AWG Braided shield push back wire and heat shrink them.

I got the push back pre tinned Gavvit 22AWG is it not shielded?!😳 don't tell me the description was wrong from the shop I bought it at 😩 How would I be able to shield the wire for the long runs without having shielded then? Would hear shrink itself work?

Nope, but you can wrap the wire in copper tape..
I will have to take myself off to the NW for this, but the snail tape from the BGSFOS should do the trick..
Wrap it then heat shrink over that should get you out of the poo
