    My First Build the GR-1SF

Hey all, this is my first DIY guitar ever. I am a fan of the Gretsch Falcon so couldn't go past this for choice.
I am doing it in the Dingotone - Uluru Red in a burst like effect (light red centre with darker red around the edge) it will have matching dark sides and the back will be done same as front.
I am very excited to do this build. I will also be doing a video diary and posting it on my YouTube as I go. (As long as I remember to film whilst I'm working on it)
I have a carpentry background so I am very much looking forward to getting on the tools again.
When I have the YouTube setup I will post the link as I go (if this is allowed?)
If I hit snags I will definitely ask for help!

A great first build you've chosen, and it looks like a nice kit you've received. The video diary sounds like a great idea. Just embed your youtube links using the "Insert Video" button in the forum edit pane. I attempted the same thing (video diary) a few builds back and the filming petered out towards the end, so I will definitely be keeping up with your progress!

    cheers,
    Gav.

Thanks Gav, I'm very impressed with my kit! I can't wait to start it. I did the dry assembley upon receiving it and it fits like a glove! And as you can see the other components seem to fit quite nicely also.
I will try and keep up to date with the vids. I did an unboxing vid and also the dry assembley so will get them together in the days to come, I am thinking I will do time lapse type vid for most of the build.

Thanks wokkaboy, I am excited to see how my plans workout, hopefully I succeed in the burst effect department. Only time will tell. I am sure I will have plenty of questions along the way!!
    Cheers guys

Great choice.. I look forward to seeing how it all turns out for you. I just finished one in Uluru red myself.

With a timber work background you will should have no trouble at all

I'm in Wollongong, and would be dead keen to see your finished result.

Awesome Danglez! I started the sand tonight, I have done the neck (took 2hrs... I think I'm somewhat of a perfectionist...) will do the body Friday. Hopefully will have my first couple of vids up by then (unpacking, dry assembley, sanding of neck)
Have you got a diary? Interested in seeing a fello GR-1SF build!
