    For me, the most impatient person on Earth ink's just perfect. I give it a little blast with the hairdryer and it's good to go in around 10 minutes. I just applied using cotton balls and found it really easy to work with and it seems to have a lot more translucence than stain so you can keep the vibrancy of the colour whilst letting the grain show through. It's real forgiving too, I had a couple of white over-sprays that made it onto the top which I knocked off with a bit off steel wool, but it took colour with it too. I just dabbed ink into the needed areas and worked in with a dry cotton ball and the patch ups blended seamlessly.
    The only thing I would say is that it has a tendency to rub off on your fingers, even when dry so if you're not paying attention you could easily transfer ink to somewhere it's not supposed to be. I shot a layer of clear over top once I was happy with the burst just to seal it and eliminate that problem.

    I had the same thing happen with my blue Tele Cab. Nothing like the colour I was aiming for, but now I wouldn't change it even if I could. Embrace the uniquenessivity (hey, I invented a new word) of it and tell people you meant it.
    Cheers Rob, yeah definitely a happy accident;-)

    Yeah I wasn't too sure after I'd done it but it's grown on me, should look good once the clear goes on and highlights the natural wood a bit more.
    @Andrew,Wokks cheers guys.

    Cheers Kim. Next up, I'm just figuring out a headstock shape and I also planning on making a little jack plate out of wood.
    If I had lacquer, that would be getting done too.

    With a different colour top, I think it's almost necessary to have that hard edge of binding to break it up.

    Nitro again?
