    Yeah good idea, as long as you've got a decent guide hole or deep centre point the tip on the brad point is irrelevant, I might grind one down tomorrow and try it out.
    Forstner bits was my first thought but as you say, small ones, I ain't got none:-(

    Did a bit more refining with the top today, it's about as close as I can get it in it's current state. Once I lay down some stain I'm sure I'll pick up more that needs doing but all in all it's looking nice.
    Sealed the top up ready for final sand. The sealer really highlights the unusual quilt, it actually runs diagonal to the grain which is kinda crazy.

    wow looks nice Barge, the pics on the left the archtop is a bit more obvious. Weird looking grain alright toward the bottom of the body.
