I've decided to skip the grain popping, purely because I just won't have enough time to do it, the stain should be here any day now, I ended up getting into a bit of an argument with the girlfriend about why I hadn't been seeing her as much and I had to break the news. All she knows is she is getting a guitar, thank god. Doesn't know what it'll look like or anything apart from the fact that she's getting a guitar... Doing well I think :P

Should still look good without grain popping but if you have the black stain it takes about 1 hour max and say few hours curing before you rub it Back

It's pretty much anything that's going to have the effect of staining timber black. I just used tribal black tattoo ink on last build. Rubbed it in, hit it with the hair dryer for 10 minutes and I was literally sanding it back within 20 minutes after application. What could be easier?Originally Posted by KurtSlash123
