I can't claim the lemony goodness - I think DB needs the credit there!

Started to install the machine heads but it didn't look right.

    Hole/s is/are wrong.

The G and B strings will foul each other.

Really? Are they drilled by hand or something?

Also, do the numbers on the machine heads mean anything regarding locations? A2, A3 etc
I know it wont fix the hole position but for future reference when/if I get this fixed.

Looks like I need 2.5 or 3 mm more clearance.

10 mm dowel pin glued in, cut off and re-drilled?

I wouldn't mind so much but I am quite happy with the finish.

Ah see Rabbitz? I was right about the 'hog! About the tuners, It's basically your only option here unfortunately... It's quite off, have no idea how it got through QC...

    Well that is easy.

Chinese industry really would not know if a QC issue jumped up and bit them on their corpulent backsides.

True, true... Also that yellow made me have to wear sunglasses, even with the screen dimmed!

Is it just the B tuner that is out of position? Check them all just in case as sometimes the headstocks can be 'slightly' asymmetrical.

If you are careful (and if the tuner's washer will hide the plug) you may be able to preserve the finish and not have to sand at all... if you pre-cut your dowel to length (ie headstock thickness) and sand the ends before gluing it. Then, use a low tack masking tape to mask up over front and back of the hole, cut the tape out of the holes, make sure the hole is free of finish/TO, then glue with Titebond and clamp front and back to ensure it's flush. Remove the clamp and tape after an hour or so then give it 24hrs to set completely. Measure, mark and spike (so the bit doesn't wander) the position of the new hole, re-drill and hopefully you'll be good to go.
    Scott.
