Kick ass dude. I think the satin actually suits it better.

Looks great, very eye-catching. And nice clean lines between the yellow and black.

That has turned out so well, Brodie. You must be thrilled. And the chip is just early road-wear. This baby will see some action, so it won't be the last chip or scratch.

You're not wrong. This satin looks sweet! Hopefully won't detract from the overall finish either (aka very shiny guitars = hard to admire). I reckon I'll sink a couple more coats on, since there is only one so far. Then I have to work out how to finish a satin clear coat, so a bit of research involved there. Then it will definitely be time to get some electronics cranking.

Can't string yet though, because I still need to get a nut. DB didn't get back to me last time, so I'll flick him another email I reckon.

Yeah, it is an early war wound. I just would have rather done it whilst playing (I can live with that) instead of through carelessness.

From my experience with satin finish, be patient and go incredibly light. The last coat has to be perfect because you can't sand and polish. On the upside, no polishing, no wet sanding! Win.

Awesome, thanks for the advice Pabs. Since you've already got some know-how, should I be doing anything between coats, like you would with gloss? E.g. a light wet sand or steel wool, or do you just keep applying coats?

    Cheers.

Hey Brodie, how many satin clear coats have you applied ?
hold the body up to the light and look for any runs are any areas where the clear isn't smooth. I'd lightly wet sand any of these but if there aren't any and its got 2 or 3 coats of clear satin you may not need any more coats
