    TD's custom TL

I have also managed to get hold of a TL-1 custom where the control cavity is on the back of the body. Basswood body and maple neck with a Rosewood fretboard. I also picked up a Babicz Tele Humbucker bridge in nickel. and some Klucson nickel tuners. I'm thinking a cherry burst finish for the front and stained black for the back and neck. As a side project I have also purchased a slab of walnut which I may use to make a tele body.

This sounds really nice...both the kit and the finishing ideas. I have been listening to Samantha Fish lately who often plays a custom Tele with Humbuckers. I think her broken up tone is amazing. What are you thinking of putting in it? Are these the vintage style Klusons? Actually, I don't know if there are any other kind...

As to the walnut Tele... I always thought those looked really cool. All you'll need is a fur coat ;-)

    Thanks fender3x.
I do have a spare Tonerider Birmingham!? I may not worry about the neck pup. But maybe a coil split. I have never had Kluson's before, but they are the vintage style with the oval knobs.

As for the fur coat - it is quite cool in Perth, but not cool enough!

    Looks cool on GH ;-)

Closest I have gotten to Klusons are Gotoh knockoffs of them...I really like the way they look.

I have a buddy with a goldfoil mini HB in the neck position on a Tele. It sounds really great. It's a Porter, I think?
