yep thats what I was going for, I'm pretty pleased with it with less coats its more a bright green thought its a bit different,

I've picked up a super strat from cashies its a dark blue with a ding in the body thought it would be a good candidate to refurbish it has a bad neck which I didn't find out till I plugged it in and sounded terrible I spent 2 day to get it sounding nice, I've got an Ibanez neck that fits I just had to pull back the bridge by 5mm to get it scale length, im going to do it candy tangerine and doing a strat which is black as I'm not a fan of black or dark blue guitars the strat needs a lot of work on the body will take me a month or 2 to finish it, I've got heaps of necks and spare parts I've accumulated over the years I'm well over a 100 guitars I've done now my Facebook has heaps of them on it

I've been doing them now for 9 years I don't sell them, once I get the ones I want to keep (im a fender guy) I give them away at Xmas to single parents on benifits its my hobby and what kid doesnt like to have a guitar, this last 12 months guitar prices have risen quit a lot, even a squire Affinity are over $400, being in a wheelchair gives me something to do and who knows may be a few start a band, when i got sick i got rid of all my guitars and amps so ive been on a buying spree to get back a few once I got better

    thank you Trevor

If there is ever a Nobel Prize for guitar building I am nominating you. It's hard to imagine doing something better than sharing one of your breathtaking works of art, and music, with someone who could not otherwise afford it. You rock, sir!

On a side note, I had to look up "cashies." One more piece of Australian slang that I have learned here. Refreshing! When I hear slang that I don't recognize here in Miami it's usually in Spanish or in teenager ;-)

hey mate cheers I don't do it for recognition I do 20-30 guitars a year normally, I can't keep all of them and if it give a young fella and girl to feel what we feel when we play its a skill people are passionate about, I am, I'm not a spectator most people who can't walk let it get to them and just sit watching TV all day give up on lifee, I can't do that I've got to be doing something i love doing them and i don't need the money so I figured the best thing I can do is help kids who need a hand especially this last couple of year

sorry cashies is cash converters I troll them every week I picked up a Strat yesterday for just $65 it needs a refubish ive sanded it all down and I've got all sorts of parts its not been looked after body and neck are good few dents but needs new bridge, pups, and machine heads which I have

I stand by my assessment, sir! That it's good for you too is gravy. It's good for the world.

Don't apologize for using Australian slang! I enjoy looking it up. Broadens my world ;-)

hey folks got a bit done this weekend I've sprayed the super Strat and the Other Strat I'm not 100% on these 2 colour wise the super Strat is candy tangerine over a silver base and the Strat I've done in cobolt blue niether has been cleared yet I'm not sure these are the final colours so got to see if they grow on me as these 2 are keepers for my guitar collection

heres the super Strat done in Candy tangerine 6 coats done by spray gun not cleared yet as I've run out of both acrylic and 2k and I buy them from Melbourne so its a weeks wait for delivery

heres the Strat I'm not 100% sure how many coats but its more than 6 of cobolt blue over a blue metallic its my least favorite of the 2

They are both nice. The tangerine may is a bit more exotic, but I like the traditional Strat shape, and I have always liked bathtub routes because of the endless possibilities for pickup configurations ;-)

Strats done it way better than it was got to leave it for a week so clear hardens as used rattle can which if you don't know they have a retarder so it doesn't dry before it hits what your painting, came out OK colour is cobolt blue 6 coats and 6 coats of clear, the thing was the worse guitar I've done body had heaps of dents and the front where your elbow was rippled ever piece of hardware was buggered and I've replaced everything on it, originally it was black with black pick guard was a mess I can't get my head around how people don't look after but only cost me $65 from cashies

I'm now moving on to the super Strat then the es335
