    Headstock pdf required (unmentionable found)

Does anyone on here have a 1:1 pdf of the Guild or PRS headstocks that they would be prepared to share privately with me.

I have no desire to copy either but to make a choice between the two and then customise the chosen one so it can't be called a ripoff.

I am dowling the existing holes and redrilling at 8mm in other locations to suit the chosen headstock design and the Grovers that I have

PM me and I'll send my email address if they can't be attached to the message

    Thanks in advance

Thanks F3X, no huge rush any time in the next 5 minutes with the humidity we have with the dog days of summer at the moment I can't do much with the finish.

I found the unmentionable template here, posted by a now banned member bargeloobs

    What is the "unmentionable"?

(I am hoping it's not of a bodily "nature"....)

A kit guitar that the OEM does not want on the market...but that briefly appeared there anyway ;-)

You can read a bit more about them here...there might be one or two left ;-)

Here's one for a Duo Jet:

It's the body and the headstock. You could probably pull out just the headstock or print it tiled, and tape together the template for just the headstock. I tried printing it "actual size" in adobe and it worked well.

It's at a website called the Electric Hearald: https://www.electricherald.com/?s=gretsch

They also have templates for a Jupiter Thunderbird and and Astro Jet.... but I only tried printing the Duo Jet.

Kind of a skinny headstock, but seems accurate when I look at pics of the LPs and Duo Jets side by side.

...as to the PRS... I haven't found one that will work without modding either the template or your uncut headstock. I have a tracing of my forbidden headstock, uncut, that I have been using to play with potential shapes. I superimposed a PRS headstock shape over it that I found on Pintrest.

Unfortunately, it looks like the bottom is wider than the uncut forbidden headstock. Here's a pic so you can see what I mean:

PM me if you want a PDF with or without the forbidden headstock tracing under it.

I played with it a bit, and think, since you plan to plug the holes and re-drill anyway, you might be able to stretch it a bit and get something like a "snakehead PRS"...

I don't have this last graphic to scale, but could probably get it that way if you like it.

I like the original PRS. Not sure what I think of it's snakehead version.

Just sent you the files, Dave, via email.

I tend to start with a tracing of the headstock which I put into program called Draw, which is part of a free, open sources Office Suite call Libre Office. It is easy to resize the image, to print to PDF, etc. If I need to edit the graphical image I usually use Paint.net, another free, open source program for graphics editing.

These are not super powerful programs, but they are relatively simple to use, free and don't take a great investment of time to learn. They end up being a good fit to my relatively limited abilities, budget and willingness to sit in front of the computer ;-)
