I'm thinking long and hard about the colours, back, sides and neck probably stained black I have some Black Japan that I will trial on a bit of maple and mahogany to see how it comes out.

The top I'm thinking translucent blue/green through to a golden sandy colour, I live very close to the beach and there's a sheltered corner that has these colours on a sunny day when the swell is gentle and there's no foam in the shore break.

We are currently getting belted by a storm but I'll get a pic one day when we are out walking the dog and post it up.

This sounds amazing. Have you thought about your top coat? I got a similar kit, so I am really keen on seeing your progress.

I'll be using wipe on poly over whatever the colours finish up being, I used it on a 1970s Gibson SG200 that I restored

I won't be using clear acrylic because I've had a problem with the guitars with that top coat sticking to the guitar racks
