Not much progress lately as I have not been able to spray any of top coats due to the weather in Perth.

So, in preparation of my last (for now anyway!) planned tele bass for this run:
I have laminated (with dowels) some pieces of Victorian Ash,
and rough cut with a jigsaw to the bass body. The jigsaw was not very happy, but slowly and steadily we got it done.
Also, sanded the top and back to 180 g.

I love that blue on the telecaster, Trevor Davies! And I am seriously jealous of your lollipop stick! It looks good! You guys make it all look so easy, but i know there's a ton of skill and sweat (maybe some blood and tears) that goes into making these. It's inspirational to those of us still fumbling with the basics.

Thankyou ElleBrooke. The tele was a left over (!) body (it was cheaper buying a whole kit than buying a separate neck and hardware!), so I decided to try some blue stain and then use it to practice my spraying of water-based poly clear coats. This is my first attempts with a spray gun. The weather in Perth has slowed me down a bit lately. But I'm loving the colour also, so will definitely complete it.

I also love the quality of the builds coming out of this forum, they are truly inspirational. I think I'm still fumbling around. And no tears, but lots of choice swear words, sweat and possibly some blood!

Finally warming up a bit in Perth. So today I'm spraying while the temp sits at about 25 degrees.

Cooling in Miami ;-) Down to 29C. It may not get reliably much cooler...or less humid. Good luck while it lasts!

Sprayed 5 coats of Cabot's water-based gloss Polyurethane onto the body and headstock of the tele' bass (and the blue tele'). Also got 3 coats of w/b satin onto the back of the neck. I will let them sit for a while.

Yes, I thought I needed a better drying stand and rotisserie stand if I'm going to spray properly! I'm very happy with the way they work - simple but effective. I built them on cheap saw-horses.
