I'm a tele fan - I have a squier affinity and a US standard, and they excellent guitars. If I didn't have the US one, I'd probably be adding one to the "to-make" list. And - I may still make one anyway
I notice you're in Aus too - wondered if you knew of any well-priced suppliers here of e.g. mahogany (or sapele) body blanks (and later on alder and ash), just sold as unshaped, unrouted rectangular blocks would be ideal. I have planer, thicknesser, routers etc. So I can take care of the shaping myself.
I've found a couple of suppliers myself (luthier supplies and another), but the prices seem astronomical, wondered if I had missed out on any better deals. I do want to use local woods too, but if I'm cloning e.g. a les paul special, then I would like to do at least one in mahogany or a close mahogany substitute.
Cheers,
Craig
