    I suspect Simon would argue that the best place for an experimental banjo is directly below the wheels of a Volvo. Preferably one of those tracked ones the army use in the arctic...

    It would need to be an older Volvo, modern ones have collision/object avoidance systems.

    Toyota Hilux. Higher weight, more ground clearance, wider tyres. Observers can direct you with clear view from the side to ensure obliteration.

    Is there any dovetailing involved, or did it end up flat wood to flat wood?

    Flat wood to flat wood. That was difficult enough. There is also a screw to apply horizontal compression on the joint as well.
