Looks like a pretty good fit to me. I can't see a gap between the heel and the floor of the pocket, so it looks like it's seated well. It's the gap on the treble E side between the board and the body's top you're concerned about? That'll be hidden by your neck pickup ring, to a degree.
Yeah, that gap a long the bottom edge.
The gap may reduce a bit when clamped, and a lot will be filled up by glue, but you may need a touch of filler in there.
It's why I like to glue necks on before applying the finish.
As well as the pickup ring, if you fit a pickguard, that will cover up half the join. I like pickguards on LPs, but I know others prefer them without.

I hadn't thought about gluing the neck before applying the finish. Personally I don't like how LPs have necks the same colour as the body and I'm not going for this look on mine. I do like pickguards on LPs though and will be ordering a new black one to with a prussian blue body. At least, that's the plan at the moment.
Prussian blue should look great. Is that for the front and sides of the body?
I did a dark blue (Ubeaut stain) for my DSCM with Wipe on poly top coats.
BTW I also have a LPJ which has the maple neck natural colour with the back of the body a dark brown.

Shaped the headstock this week by freehand to resemble the Gibson look. Not perfect but neither am I. Happy with this though. I’m keeping it natural as I don’t love coloured necks or headstocks. Just going to use Cabot’s Cabothane clear to give it a nice satin finish.
