Ah intersting.

so today i tried to start staining the body, and it is exactly like you said. The stain definitely did not take very well or very evenly.
it is still okay, but I'm thinking tomorrow when its fully dry i will give it a good sand with 120 or 240 to help the next coat of stain take much better.

You may need to go back to 80 & 120 to open things up a bit before doing a final 180.
