Still ticking along slowly on this. I've been busy with a lot of other things going on and as this is a 'friendly' job it's last priority.
I got an airbrush to help with doing the burst and we've settled on a stain combo. Hard to photograph, but this is the sample. So this on the front then the rest of the body in the dark brown all done in satin poly then a black gloss headstock with decal.
Current mock up for the headstock. The logo is representative of his family and 'Yonder' is what he plans to name his farm.
Headstock shaped, little bit of fine tuning to go.
And otherwise we have everything except for a decent nut and a couple of mounting screws. Lot's of upgrades going in, using the Gibson 490s that were in his other guitar, roller bridge, vintage locking tuners etc, should be a really decent guitar when its done.
And here is where it's at, checking neck alignment, fit and scale length. Just need to bite the bullet and glue and we can get onto some of the fun stuff.
