    Ok. Thanks everyone for your advice. I have learned a valuable lesson. Prep and sanding. Photo 1 is my rush job. Photo 3 is my patience. Numerous coats of true oil to go now and plenty of 0000 steel wool buffs in between. Will let the girl settle for a week to completely dry out before a final light buff and commencement of tru oil.
    Stain was just a water based jarrah colour from Bunnings hardware.
