hey phil like what was you thinking ? they don't sell Paul's anymore have thought about a hollow body but i have enough trouble with my Les Paul's and acoustics to hard to get a balance with, haven't played one for about 2 1/2 years i have done Ibanez's lag and a couple of Paul's some Tele's and of course Strats i mainly do them for myself and a couple for mates i don't do them to sell my lounge room is full of guitars lol, what prs i have been getting a bit bored with doing Strats ?

What about something pointy like a V or explorer? The SGs are pretty fun as well as Simon suggested.

I know what you mean, I have more guitars than rack space at the moment. There really isn’t any logical reason to build more other than “I wanna”.

have a look in the Shred section Phroz. I just ordered a WL-1 without the floyd....it won't look much like a WL when I finish with it.

I'd love to see your paint on some of those shapes like the Ic, the WL and the BC. Of course you could always go low end....a bass?

Firebird shape might work as not as elongated as an explorer and quite well balanced when played sitting down.

Real ones are heavy though, and need a special stand (as does an explorer, though not so heavy), so probably less convenient for Phroz.

100% Simon right on the money, i mainly do them for myself or close mates and being in a wheelchair its a struggle to hold it and if the body is heavy (arla les paul) its a struggle to just hold it let alone play it, i have been thinking about doing some hollow body's but not quite sure which, having a room full of guitars isn't a problem as i play them all and none sound or play the same, i'm in the middle of a Lpaul for a friend so ill be ordering a couple of kits soon but won't be strat family.I have a few different finishes i want to try, SG is a candidate my missus used to play an EX which she loved. leave it with me and i might surprise every one. thanx for the input guys food for thought ....

hi guys couple i'm currently doing only just up to the clear stage but coming along nicely front is just a yellow dye rear and sides is walnut stain body was a nightmare high and low spots around the binding, i had to clear and sand back with 600 grit 6 times almost used 2lt of clear each block was 9 coats but looking nice a flat now so should polish up real nice still have heaps of work to do on it not sure if its a keeper till i finish it and have a pick

here is just a standards run of the strat its in cyan pearl but thinking about spraying a candy blue over it nothing to get worked up about but more pic's to come been pretty busy atm

all done have another hollow body coming yellow dye front back side and neck walnut took a fair bit of sanding every couple of coats of clear still waiting on some mother of pear sheet to finish the head stock and logo
