As you can see it's lighter but no more blue. It seems to have selectively stained the grain pattern so I think I am not going to end up with the same as Adam's colour, but something more akin to a blue wash. What I'm hoping for now is that the pattern stays darker and then when I intensify and finish I will end up with a highlighted wood effect with some blue tinges in certain lights... could be cool!

Alternatively, if that doesn't work I'll sand it all back and start again! I'm in no hurry... I am finding that making a plan in this game only gets you so far, you have to adapt as you go!

That looks wicked!! Great colour. Just a question about the Keda dyes: are you able to still use the intensifier and final coat from Dingotone or is that also supplied with the Keda?

At this point I might go ahead with intensifying the dingotone and seeing where it goes. Plan B will be to sand it right back and start again with the Keda dye...

You can buy Keda wood dye in a bottle or in a powdered form and mix it up yourself. If you buy some in a bottle than you'll only get one bottle and that contains pure wood dye, intensifier isn't needed as the dye by itself is enough and a finish coat isn't supplied.

With my build I have so far dyed the guitar blue and am planning to spray an acrylic clearcoat over it. You too could apply a clearcoat using paint e.g. nitrocellulose lacquer or acrylic lacquer. I can't say for sure that the dingotone final coat would be compatible with Keda wood dye but trying it out on some scrap wood wouldn't hurt, better safe than sorry.
