In my limited Luthiery experience, losing the plot only occurs somewhere between 240 and 1500 grit, or after the fourth attempt to get Black Stump to work properly on an EXA-1.

Well it certainly was a worthy winner and beautifully finished. Its nice to get a better idea of what the stain could look like on my build.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips on removing sharpie marker from my fretboard. I Did mask the fretboard when i was working on it but it seems that somehow I still managed to get some marker under the tape i havent oiled the fretboard yet.

I was thinking that but not really sure how or if it would affect the timber in any way. So I just wanted to see what other ideas people have. Thanks for the suggestion.

Metho or white spirit/turps won't harm the fingerboard. You could even try some naptha (liquid lighter fluid). Goof-Off would probably work as well.

Today was the day when all the sanding and grain filling starts to pay off. My Dingotone arrived yesterday so i was pretty eager to get some stain on the body. As i mentioned earlier in the thread i chose to go with Bushfire Sunrise I'm very happy with my color choice the grain has popped pretty nicely.
I was a little anxious using the DT for the first time but after a couple of minutes i actually enjoyed the process easy to use and pleasant smelling I'm really happy with how it went on and looking forward to getting onto the intensifying coat.
