Looking forward to see that finish FrankenWashie. And I don't see anything wrong with that nut. I'd say; great job!

Nice clean look from on top.

For the jack socket have you considered using one of these?

They come in chrome, gold and nickel too and have used them on both of my teles. Wish I had found them before doing the explorers as these give a much smoother and cleaner line to the edge where jack socket is located.

I've seen those Waz, but I had already bored a recess into the body with a flat bottom for the deep panel jack. The whole thing sits about a half inch into the body edge.

Yeah, just had another look and saw that there was a hole behind the volume knob therefore too late for one of these.

?? The jack point breaks through into the rear most corner of the control cavity from the body edge. It's not ideal but it sort of hides it away and keeps a clean line on the curve of the lower bout.

OK, so what is that hole behind the volume pot for?

Edit, quick trip to Spec Savers and now I can see it is the PUP selector switch. All good now.

To be fair, it is a very mini mini switch.

Cheers Phroz, the first clear stain coat went on it last night. I want to see how it comes up dry as it may just be the one coat of stain and intensifier and the straight into the clears. We shall see.
